Save on Configuration the Naming options for each device and collection #2357

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Have your media organized by Clementine, with collection and devices with different criteria.

  1. Copy media to a device (saying, for example inside the /MUSIC/DELETE folder) with the organizer, then move files to your collection using the "Organise Files" window again.
  2. Clementine will not tell the diference between the Path for a device, and the one for your collection, and will 'forget' any Naming options you had. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Expected clementine to save each naming setting for each device and my collection. Instead, it saved a single naming scheme for all of them. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Clementine 0.7.3-261-g3395078, KDE 4.7.2, Kubuntu 11.10 Please provide any additional information below. While this issue is not critical by itself, it can be annoyning to be changing the naming scheme whenever you have to copy a song to a device or your collection.

Namely, some devices require you copy the songs to a very specific folder (or with a special threatment) causing you to be editing the naming field everytime if you happen to copy media to your cellphone and your player, or to your devices and collection.

Solution: Save the prefered naming scheme for each device and collection. Clementine actually remember what deviced where previously connected, so then maybe is not so hard to actually save that extra data for user confort.

Any plans to implement this? I'm using Clementine to manage multiple player devices, and this would be great feature.

Additionally the current behavior is confusing even when handling only one player device: When trying to copy files from the player to the collection, the path shown is usually the player's path and must manually be changed back to the collection's path :(

Issue 3632 has been merged into this issue.
