What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Build a fairly recent release

  1. Group your library containing a fair few Japanese artists by Artist What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I expect the artists to be grouped under the respective letter. Instead, hiragana lettered groups are clustered together and empty, followed by the actual artists in order not corresponding to the group order. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Most recent git build, Version 1.1.1-402-g54e53ff Linux ShanaX61s 3.8.0-gentoo #1 SMP Tue Feb 26 07:38:52 GMT 2013 i686 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU L7700 @ 1.80GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux qt-core 4.8.4- r4 Please provide any additional information below. It behaves as expected on fairly old builds (200s builds). I'll try to figure out which commit exactly breaks the ordering.

I also noticed that this build seems to have wiped my settings and used the defaults (gone background image, 50% volume, reset shortcut settings (damn it), moodbars enabled, basically all the jazz) but my library settings have persisted.

I just bisected all the way back and c2e25e7c7423eca34c6ab088d22d52f2ffc65a2c is the first bad commit, which was used to fix issue #3456 to do with sorting… I'm not sure how to proceed, considering that reverting it will make #3456 come back.

This affects Korean syllables as well, which get mixed in with the hiragana (see attached screenshot).
