Nope, how come it looks fine? This is not the scripts that we use bro, currently it still can't support unicode, I mean in your clementine player. It is showing the scripts but the rendering or arrangement is totally wrong. :(

It looks like the non-spacing mark characters like http://www.charbase.com/102f-unicode-myanmar-vowel-sign-u aren't being combined with the preceding characters properly.

Maybe this is related to these Qt bugs: https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-14590 https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-5472 Does this same thing happen in other Qt applications?

Clementine player is based on Qt? I am a Java developer as well so we can discuss for it. In Java, sometimes we face problem. If this problem is with Qt then ........ I see uncle, this is in Qt, means we have to report this bug to Qt, not to Clementine, why you guys didn't develop Clementine in either Java or Python? :)

Probably because Java has no redeeming features and Python is useless for any non-trivial project ;)

In any case, from reading around, this probably won't be fixed on the Qt side until at least Qt5.2. An upside is that 5.2 is really close now. You'll just have to wait I think.

Please don't start petty language wars on the issue tracker.

jumoun: I see what you mean now.

We haven't ported to Qt5 yet so expecting us to be on 5.2 any time soon is hopeful. More likely is back-porting fixes to 4.8.4 so this at least works well on mac/win where we compile Qt from source.

Which kind of redeeming features Java doesn't have? Even if Java doesn't, we can create core Java packages right? :D For Python, I am not sure. Ok, if this case is solved in 5.2, why not :)
