UI freezes for a few minutes after typing one letter into the library search box

Operating System: Ubuntu vanilla 16.04
Clementine version: 1.3.1

Expected behaviour / actual behaviour

should not freeze after typing the first letter of a search term

Steps to reproduce the problem (only for bugs)

type a letter into the search box and watch the interface grey out...

I have this bug too, my library is about 30 thousand tracks, 250 GB. @mikerjensen, what is your library size? Usually I see freezes when typing in search box, never — when paste text. Ubuntu 16.04.3, Clementine v.1.3.1-333-gf854bc5~xenial from ppa:me-davidsansome.

Yes, my library size is about 300gb / 40K tracks...i assumed
  clementine starts searching for a single character and gets bogged
  down...maybe the threshold for initiating the search should be
  increased to 2 or 3 characters?

Same here, Ubuntu Studio 14.04.5 LTS, Clementine 1.3.1, library 130,000 tracks (FLAC & MP3).

Has this been fixed yet? Anyone know the maximum usable library size? I have 1tb of mp3 + more in flac. Need Linux program to search by tags and find stuff fast. As well as organise file and tag etc etc. Its the one thing I still use windoze for, because media monkey needs directX :(:(:(

Yes I could just try and see, but rather not wait 2 weeks to decide if crashed or still loading like with iTunes and most others. So been asking around, got directed here from main site and G+...
