Is Clementine "dead"? #7243

Open desputinski opened 1 year ago

desputinski commented 1 year ago

Hello, sorry to ask, but the last release of clementine is from 2016: https://www.clementine-player.org/about

So why even bother to continue the project? By now there is a great fork: https://www.strawberrymusicplayer.org/

So why continue flogging a dead horse?

good point :)

Interesting. I did not know, but will try it and see if it offers the same or better functionality than Clementine.

You are welcome not to use it if you consider it a “dead horse” but refrain from filing useless “issues” to scold the volunteers that do work here about it

I would be happy, if clementine came to life again. But I kind of doubt it after approx. 6 years nothing relevant happening...

@desputinski I have no idea why they decided to stop making releases, but I use Clementine as provided by Debian packaging team - they based packages on something.

And it has feature crucial to me, missing in Strawberry: https://github.com/strawberrymusicplayer/strawberry/issues/317

Why you did the same and opened issue that is a clear duplicate of #7165 #6856 and multiple other issues?
