Hi! I'm using version 0.5 of Clementine on my Ubuntu 10.04 (64 bit) system.

I'm usually not using this option but today I've tried to activate the rain-simulation from the 'extras' menu. After activating this option Clementine freezed and the window became grey.

This happens whether I'm playing a song or not. When a song is played, it's still played continuous until the end even when the application freezes. But there is no track change after playing the current song.

I've tried to start Clementine from the bash to see if there is any output but I didn't got anything.

Are you online when you try it? It's a stream.

Yes, the computer is connected via WLAN with my router.

I've installed Clementine 0.5 on my second computer (also Ubuntu 10.04, 64 bit) today and tried this but it's the same effect.

Is there any possibility the router is blocking a needed TCP/UDP port?

I seem to have the same exact issue on Kubuntu 10.10 Beta (x64).

Rain requires that you're using a sensible sound system, ie. one that supports multiple streams.

It uses HTTP so I imagine your firewall is not blocking it.

Same on Kubuntu 10.04 using latest revision. It worked fine on earlier revisions (not sure when it stopped).

Same here on PCLinuxOS 2010.07 when rain is selected.

I've packaged Clementine for Salix OS and noticed this problem, too. Strange enough it seem to be related to the used Qt theme that is selected in qtconfig:

Another Salix dev reported:

Checked again in r2115 and it seems fixed.

No, did a fresh install 1/2 an hour ago on 64-bit Ubuntu Maverick (also a fresh install, with the defaults still in place), and it freezes the app on my machine. And yes, I have an active Internet connection, no proxies.

I also experienced this issue with Clementine 0.5.3 on Maverick installed from PPA. If I start rain first, however, and then start playing music, it works just fine. Haven't tried nightlies yet.
