IMHO this should not be a part of this workshop, may be a part of supplementary materials of be moved to the intro to command line workshop.

This section introduces important concepts:

  1. Variables, and specifically environment variables
  2. .bashrc
  3. PATH and how to modify PATH

+1 for moving to "Introduction to Linux" workshop. But we must make it clear that these concepts are prerequisite for this workshop.
