2. Overview of the Volunteer Coordination Role
As part of the HR/People Ops/Volunteer Coordination team, your primary responsibilities include:
Recruiting Volunteers: Identifying and attracting individuals who align with CLENT Africa’s mission.
Onboarding Volunteers: Ensuring volunteers are well-prepared and informed about their roles.
Managing Volunteer Engagement: Keeping volunteers motivated and engaged throughout their tenure.
Performance Monitoring: Tracking volunteer contributions and providing feedback.
Reporting: Documenting volunteer activities and outcomes for internal records and donor reports.
3. Volunteer Recruitment Process
1. Identifying Needs:
Collaborate with project leads to determine volunteer needs based on upcoming initiatives. Develop job descriptions outlining the skills and qualifications required.
2. Sourcing Volunteers:
Use various channels to attract potential volunteers:
Online platforms: Social media, CLENT Africa’s website, and volunteer recruitment sites.
Partnerships: Engage with universities, NGOs, and community groups.
Referrals: Encourage current volunteers and staff to refer new candidates.
3. Screening & Selection:
Review applications, conduct interviews, and select volunteers who meet the required criteria. Emphasize alignment with CLENT Africa’s values and commitment to the cause.
