problem in libtool file #3

CentOS 4.6: in order to successfully build, after ./configure, I have to
edit libtool and remove ~\$RANLIB (2 occurrences).  It seems ranlib is not
necessary, and these two references cause problems because they are
concatenated with the names of the object files that precede them.

I think this is now fixed in 3.7.0, just released.  Libtool was indeed screwed 
up.
