Perhaps this should be split into a couple of different issues.
Looked into this one and it doesn't look like this is administered by any US agency
Is there a problem in the fact that it isn't administered by an US Agency ?
Not a problem....just noting that if we're focusing on data that are highly at-risk from the "presidential" administration, these might not be included since they are outside the purview of US government servers.....
But climate is a world problem, and not just an US problem no ?
It very much is, but with respect to the aforementioned presidential administration in the US, prioritising and safekeeping data from American agencies is paramount (i.e. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/donald-trump-environmental-protection-agency-website-climate-change-global-warming-a7544621.html and others). This data, whilst equally important, is not collected nor hosted by US agencies and is thus consequently not facing the same risks, hence the need for prioritisation.
Thank you for adding this ticket @CorentinB Currently the scope of this project is to backup datasets that are threatened by our current presidential administration. I am not aware of any reason to suspect that Iran is threatening its datasets. Because of this I am considering closing this ticket. I will leave it open for now and just mark it as low priority.
