It looks big. 1.6M sites! cf inventory.

Thanks for flagging the dupe - keeping this one open and closed the other. From experience working with this data, I think it'd be a huge lift to mirror it. Some work could be done using their HTTP API (a few Python packages exist that can communicate with it - PyUlmo and usgs-api), but it'd probably be best to subset the data to the most important, or contact USGS. I don't consider this dataset highly threatened though, due to it being less directly about climate change (even if it has usefulness and implications for climate).
