For the future and as proposed by elf, the process would be something like this:

  1. We detect offensive language or fake profile
  2. We hide vote (but not delete) and ask person for clarification
  3. Modifications are made
  4. We either modify text and active vote or cancel vote (but not delete) if we don't reach agreement.
