Curation Admin question #1

Are Curation Admin going to be the only actors with the ability to register allele? Or will all users have the ability to submit, with later Curation Admin review?

Good question. I do not know. I simply qualified the Curator role as "Admin" because Ronak mentioned that not all users should be able to register alleles.

I think in practice the Allele Registry would most likely grant access via a web service and authorized client applications to view and/or register alleles. So, it may make more sense to modify the use case to remove this extra qualification. Changing the role to "Curator" and if necessary note that the Curation Application will be granted the authority to register alleles.

While I understand Ronak's concern on managing access to "registration" v. "lookup" services, I don't think it is vital to capture that at this time.

The only reason I ask is because if general users are able to submit, we can create a list of other use cases around how that would look/work.

I think the Allele Registry authority will most likely provide a "special" authorization for those users that can create/submit entries "Allele Registry Submitter"? versus the public Allele Registry Users, that can search the registry only. If you want to create a list of use cases around the "submitter", please do. We can always revise and build on any content you develop.
