Inclusion / Exclusion Criteria Structuring Tool and Search (NLP + Recaptcha) #65

Open williamhoos opened 7 years ago

  1. Implement the model for how to store structured incl/excl criteria so that it can be searched
  2. Develop manual, semi-automated or NLP based processing of incl/excl criteria to populate model from the "criteria" field currently in ct.gov and/or in AACT (AACT removes some line returns which may need to be restored to facilitate processing)
  3. Develop of front end crowd editing interface to allow recaptcha style crowd structuring of incl/excl
  4. Work out how to include in search/filter options

A specific "demonstration" project for this functionality can focus on "performance status" commonly used in oncology trials. This is listed in the "criteria" of many oncology related studies with versions of "Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group" or "Karnofsky Performance Scale Index" with values ranging from 0-3(5) and 0-100% respectively as allowed or disallowed.

The reason for choosing this demonstration is that it is an important criteria and also relatively limited in variations presented so should be an easier task for NLP demonstration and human curation/verification via recaptcha event without NLP.

Reference to performance status rules and scale, not critical but potentially helpful. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Performance_status
