regression test failures with 9.0 and 9.1 on Debian #80

I'm consistently getting regression test failures with PostgreSQL 9.0 and 9.1 
(but not 8.4 or 9.2 or 9.3).  See the attached test result diff.

Isn't it because you had configured custom_variable_classes in your 
postgresql.conf, and you scratched it, so you don't have it anymore?  Starting 
from 9.2, you don't need it.

No, this was run in a freshly initdb'ed instance in each case. Nothing special 
was done with custom_variable_classes.

Um, so you'd have to set custom_variable_classes before running test.  The test 
expects it has been set.
