Christian Johansen on Replicant #2

Open PEZ opened 2 months ago

PEZ commented 2 months ago

I would love to hear Christian Johansen,

@cjohansen

Talk about Stateless Datadriven UIs

... in general, and maybe Replicant in particular.

because

Christian is one of those thinkers in the Clojure community who takes from his time and focus to reflect on how things could be done better. And he shares his findings with the rest of us in blog articles and on the Clojurians Slack. But this is most often in Norwegian, so a bit less accessible for non-Scandinavians. Luckily Christian sometimes shares of his knowledge in English, as in this talk about Stateless and Datadriven UIs. And in Parens of the Dead, Christian and Magnar Sveen (@magnars) share their experience and thinking around software design in a fast paced and super entertaining way. Also in English.

In addition to thinking and sharing the resulting thoughts, Christian is also a tool smith who forms his development environment to support his way of designing and developing software. And he shares these tools with us as well! Such as Dumdom, like with Portfolio, or with the Gadget Inspector. Dumdom gave us the best from the React idea, without also bringing in ReactJS. But it was not close enough to the perfect rendering library, so that's why we now have Replicant.

I think that the more developers that are exposed to Christian's ideas on software design, the better.

Hey, thanks for creating the issue. Let me work this out with @cjohansen. Would you be interested in Clojure Conj ticket?

PEZ commented 2 months ago

Awesome! Must say that a Conj ticket is the coolest reward ever. However, I have a ticket already. Will I see you there, Jacek?

jacekschae commented 2 months ago

Would love to go and have too much going on already. Maybe in the future?

Just wanted to say thanks for the much too kind words @PEZ, and thanks for considering it @jacekschae 😊
