What happened

Since the PostGIS 2.5 branch has ended its life two years ago (Official news), we should upgrade our PostGIS kernel to a newer stable version.

What you think should happen instead

We should have a newer PostGIS. We can take https://github.com/greenplum-db/geospatial/commit/cfa3a16e7faf273f5afebeb62c80908bb983d80a as a reference.
