Hi James,
This is something we're interested in investigating. In fact, I wrote a quickie story a while back.
We haven't started to look at the OSS licensing of the Percona Toolkit, and all indications are that this will be some fussy work. I am not sure when we'll be able to work on it. If you want, we can keep this issue open on GitHub, and when we finish #118322591, we can update here?
Otherwise, you could look for it in the release notes...?
Marco Nicosia Product Manager Pivotal Software, Inc.
OK, I'll close this issue then. Good to know its on the roadmap somehow.. Thanks!
Hi @menicosia
both links give me
Sorry, we couldn't find that story It may be in a project you haven't been invited to yet or it may have been deleted.
I logged in with @swisscom.com email address.
Can you please update us the state? What's the problem with License? How is progress?
percona-toolkit is a must have tool for MariaDB/MySQL DBA. Without those tools, you loose much comfort and speed solving issues.

Hi @menicosia
any update? I work for a corporate with lots of security borders. I need to copy log files with big effort to my Desktop for percona-toolkit.
It would be really nice to have those Perl scripts in Bosh VM.
thanks
Fabio,
This item is something we look at and discuss frequently, but it never comes up as one of the "must have" next things we need to do.
I'd love to hear more about how you are using it with the output of
cf-mysql-release
. I think perhaps if I had a few more concrete use-cases
such as yours, I'd be able to get more support to prioritize.
(I'll share that one of the things that pushes this item down is that the level of effort to install and continue to maintain it is not super-low, because it also brings in several perl libraries as dependencies, such as DBD::DBI. That keeps this seemingly simple story from being a gimme.)

Could you also add the Percona Toolkit to packages and the mysql job? It would be a very helpful addition for our Ops team when they are doing some manual work, inspecting the databases, etc.
