Now known as "GitHub Desktop"
@erikjung Do you think this is something we should give all employees? Not opposed to it, just curious.
I don't need it, I still like Tower.
@lyzadanger Eh. Probably not. We can close this now IMO.
@lyzadanger I do think a visual UI is nice to have, but it's also just a preference. Everyone who has joined the team has done just fine with the command line, and I'm not sure the UI is valuable for anything more than convenience (diffs, interactive staging, etc.)
I was actually going to get this done today! But, alas, github-desktop
is one of the brewcask
packages that suffers from this problem: https://github.com/boxen/puppet-brewcask/issues/22
It's the same issue I ran into with virtualbox
the other day, so I'm going to close this for now as not-reasonably-do-able with boxen
.
I've pretty much ditched Tower as my Git GUI. I really liked it, but it was buggy with submodules.
The GitHub app is nice. Less features, but still plenty. And free.
