Promote the Compile button inside of empty Preview panes #56

Describe the requested feature:

When I first used the Preview pane, I waited a good 10-15 seconds before 
realizing I needed to click something to make it work.  When there is no 
preview to be displayed, the preview pane should probably show a brief 
message saying "Click 'Compile' to generate a preview".
