When published, our cert-manager chart was the only option for installing cert-manger CRDs via the helm chart. While a benefit on initial install, that proved not to be a benefit long-term when the software needed to be updated, as Jetstack had warned. We now recommend using Jetstack's chart with some alternative mechanism for managing the CRDs.
