Bring back the history since Sept 2009

I'm not sure that pull request contains the last 3 commits from master.

@mgenov I can see from my fork that its there:

What I did was just pull the history from the Hg, actually these files from the mercurial will be removed at one point in the history because it does not totally match the ones in this repo. What we can have here is just a history of twig-persist at least.
