If the Better Highlights plugin is enabled, then the PyCharm Settings Editor » Inspections is no longer available #55

Good evening

I am testing the Better Highlights plugin (therefore, I am using the freemium mode) and if I enable it, then the PyCharm Settings Editor » Inspections looks like this: image

If I disable the Better Highlights plugin, then it looks like this: image

@schittli I'll check. As for now I have 0 ideas how that could be connected.

Hello @clutcher , thank you very much!, I just had an idea and wanted to deactivate all other plugins to be 100% sure that it is not the interaction of Better Highlights with another plugin that is causing the issue.

Then PyCharm offered me for Better Highlights the update 2023.7.4 and "... why not test?" I thought.

With Better Highlights version 2023.7.4 the issue in this Ticket is solved 😃

I only use PyCharm for developing SW non-profit projects and am excited to see how Better Highlights works now 😃

@schittli Strange as I can reproduce it with latest plugin version and any of IDE, not only PyCharm)) I already found a root cause, so I'll reopen ticket and push a fix with next release.

Pushed release with fix. Should become available for update in 1-2 days.

Thank you very much, @clutcher , I've already got the update for version 2023.7.5 and this is my test-result:

  1. A few hours ago, with version 2023.7.4, the problem suddenly came back and the Inspections Panel was empty again.

  2. Now I have updated to version 2023.7.5 and the Inspections Panel works again - so far everything is perfect 😀

I'll still keep an eye on the panel over the next few days and report back if the problem comes back.

If I don't get back to you in the next 3 days, there is a very good chance that you have fixed corrected the error 😄

@schittli Great. I will close this ticket as for now. If the issue will reappear - I will reopen it.
