last hugo + beautifulhugo update in nov 2022 pulled in darkmode detection based on os settings which is great, but it's a bit of an ugly dark theme.

consider tweaking it / moving to a better dark theme
get plotly to work in darkmode? https://dash.plotly.com/dash-daq/darkthemeprovider
find a different graphing framework?
