🐛 [Bug Report] [TBC] Mail-System: Texts of the letter disappear #3772

Bug Details

There is a problem with the mail system. If you write a letter to a player and take the letter out of the mailbox, you will receive the letter but the Text inside of the letter will disappear after some time and it will say 'There is no info for this item'.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Go to a Mailbox
  2. Start writing a Letter to a Player
  3. Send it
  4. Login in with the Character who gots the Mail
  5. Go to the Mailbox and open the Letter
  6. Take the Letter
  7. On Rightclick it shows the Letter's Text
  8. After a while up to a few hours it shoes 'There is no info for this item'

Expected behavior

After you have taken the letter out of the mailbox, it doesn't matter how much time passes, the content/text of the letter should be saved as long as you have the letter and not disappear after a certain time.

could be a problem with packing edit: nvm we don't pack items

I've just tried it out a bit, strange things are happening. I sent items to my other character and then a message was in the new mail text field from a letter that I had in my inventory even though I had sent a completely different message for this mail and the next mail with an item i sent gave the result: there is no info for this item again.

Can confirm there seems to be a problem with mail. F. ex.: If you save a permanent copy of a certain mail as "item". Same thing. The Text is gone after a certain time or the whole copy of the letter (as "item" in bag or bank) is dissapeared. Mostly 2nd thing, totally disappeared, i. S. of not only not shown (as symbol in bag, but still "clickable"), but really "deleted". Other than above, i discovered it already in tbc commits from: June 12th, 2024.
