Project Update 11-05

What we got done:

This week, our group finally finished markup up our XML. Camryn marked up J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar, Ashley marked up A$AP Rocky and Childish Gambino, and I finished the XML for Tyler the Creator and Kid Cudi.

Next plans:

Our plans for this upcoming week are to have a basic design for our HTML and to have the initial pages deployed by next Tuesday. In addition, another goal is to have some write-ups done for the pages. Ashley and Camryn are tasked with creating the write ups for the site and I am tasked with writing the HTML and CSS.

Congrats on finishing up the XML markup! I feel that always takes longer than imagined... How did you pick who marked up each artist? Was it random or based on preference? I imagine marking up an artist you enjoy would be easier and maybe you would also notice more details. Then again, maybe having fresh eyes is a good thing. I know last week you felt behind, so I hope you are all caught up now and don't have to stress:)

It's good to see that you guys have finished your XML, and it seems like you are making solid progress. Like Emily, I am also curious how you guys chose to divvy up the mark-up, I would think it would be easier to do an artist that you are a fan of, but I wonder if that also comes with any kind of setbacks, such as bias.

I know that you had to reduce the markup in order for it to be more manageable so it is probably nice to have it finished. I looked at the website page and I really like the color scheme and layout. Who is doing what parts of the write-up? Was one person designated to focus on the project's methods and another focusing on their sources/research question?
