I just tried using another SIP soft phone client from the android market and
was able to register and make outbound calls. The client was 3CXPhone. So the
problem doesn't seem to be with the Verizon network. Please let me know if
there is any information you need as I much prefer the sipdroid interface and
would like to continue to use it.

I have a Droid Bionic running Sipdroid that successfully registers with PBXes
as well as completing calls. Perhaps the problem is with Asterisk.

I don't see how the problem could be with the PBX if it registers fine over
wifi, but won't register over 3G or 4G. Also, I have tried using tcpdump to
get a packet capture at the PBX server and nothing reached it when using 3G/4G.
Did you have to enable any special settings to get your phone to connect?

I also have the Droid Bionic I have found while using sipdroid I can register
with my PBX over 3G(EVDO-A) and WiFi. When I have the phone in 4G(LTE) mode it
will not register at all, and have an instant 500 Server Internal Error. No
data was seen at the PBX server. I have tried CSipSimple and have no problems
registering over 3G, 4G or WiFi.

Verizon has changed the 3G signal in my area to eHARP and now sipdroid would
not work over the 3G network for about 90% of the time. Puzzled I did the only
thing I could do and went back through my asterisk server, and firewall
settings.
After rebuilding and refreshing my firewall port forwarding connecting with UDP
would work but only half the time no audio, 3CXphone worked with out problems.
Switched to TCP, and a static IP setting, although my IP is dynamic, Now I
could register but had one way or no audio.
At this point from what I could gather from my asterisk logs, was when using
sipdroid the phone would report back to the server its internal network address
when on 3G and 4G, and not its external address. WiFi at the coffee shop it
would report the external address. I also found that not only do you need
NAT=YES in the general SIP settings of asterisk you also need NAT=YES in
settings for the sipdroid extension. Now sipdroid is reporting the phones
external network address over 3G and 4G. (I only had NAT=YES in the general SIP
settings to start with)
Now I had one way audio every time when using sipdroid, again 3CX worked with
out problems. Reboot the firewall, and asterisk server, and BINGO it works over
3G and 4G. using UDP or TCP.
What I do not understand is why other sip software I tried worked?

we have both asterisk and open sip and we have tried not only open sip but also
others and looks like over 4g network we can not get any our devices registerd
but when i vpn to another notwork it work ok. seem like somehow port 5060 is
block ???. also looks like changing the udp port to something other then 5060
work.

I can also confirm this issue on a droid bionic. I can also confirm that
3cxphone does work over 4g.
The IP address being sent by the droid to the asterisk server is 192.168.20.1,
which is not correct. I'm not sure where it's getting that address from. I
have tried with/without a STUN server and other voip phones can connect just
fine remotely.

We have the same issue on vodafone 3g using sipdroid. The response packet looks
like it came from our server, but it never reached the server. Some
router/equip on vodafone's network is sending us back the 400, and in other
cases a 500 server internal error

Sorry about that, the above trace was from sipdroid but we copy pasted the
packet contents from csip and sent it from sipdroid. Csipsimple works.
