The dataset I used shows expenses in relation to income of different categories, such as groceries and transportation. This is sorted on family composition, age and origin of people. The dataset works in percentages instead of integers. Integers would show bigger differences, because some groups just don't have as much to spend. While the difference in income still makes up for the difference in value, working with percentages shows a more honest view of the distribution of values.
Usage in assessment 3
The visualisations I'd like to make are one grouped bar chart and a pie- or stacked bar chart. In the grouped bar chart I can show the expence per category, with the groups of people in the legend. Then, in the pie- or stacked chart, I will show the distribution of expences for one specific group of people. For example, the expences of 25-year olds will be compared to the other groups of people, sorted by category in the grouped chart. In the pie- or stacked chart, I'll show the percentages of expence of the 25-year olds. The second chart will be opened by clicking on the specific group in the legend of the fist chart.
The category of expences I used are in the folder 'Afdelingen' under the folders 'Bestedingscategorieen' and then 'alle groepen'. I selected all of them, with the exception of 'Consumptiegebonden belastingen' and 'Diverse goederen en diensten'. The groups of people I selected were
All ages in steps of 10 years for the 1st dataset.
