Neither PS4 nor XBOX bindings show up in presets

I followed the instructions and neither binding even show up in the game. Ive tried opening elite dangerous and elite dangerous horizons and neither show the bindings.

This is what the error text document in bindings reports:

I put proposal on the xbox code. There was a floating secondary after you listed the secondaries for leftthrust and righthrust

So i proposed to remove those .(I KNOW 0 about coding but looked at patterns and the games original binding code as a reference)

Thanks for sharing your discoveries and I'm sorry for the time you spent trying this binding. It's unmaintained since multiple patches of the game. So I'm not surprised it doesn't work anymore.

Also, last time I played, I discovered a binding included in the game that is very close to this one. So I switch to the one included in the game which is supported by the game developers.

I propose that we close this repository or at least put a warning message regarding the "not working" state and "looking for contributors".

This game does nothing to help... because I changed one binding, mine is now called "Custom" and there is no way of knowing from which binding I forked mine. I think it's one called "Advanced control pad".

I've tried this yesterday and it works without problem. There is an error though in the installation instructions.

Don't right click and save the file as instructed, but click on the link en then select the raw version of the .binds file.

That file can be downloaded (save page as) and put in your bindings folder as described. In the game you can then select 'Dahkron' as controller option.

This enables me to play Elite Dangerous in VR while only needing the controller. Perfect! 😄

I don't see a "save page as" but just a "save as" and it turns the text into a .txt folder

But it won't show up still

I've tried unplugging my Ds4 controller and seeing if that was inteferering and deleting my custom binds

Ah almost there. Your computer tries to save it as a .txt file, but it should just be .binds like in the original file. Otherwise Elite can't recognize it.
