As in topic description.

I don't believe information on those are available to third party apps. The best you could do would be to program some VoiceAttack commands to remember the state, and change as you press their control keys.

You are probably right. I think those type of infos will not be available at all because it could be used to create very sophisticated macros. They would facilitate controlling of the ship so greatly that flying and fighting would become way too easy, and FD surely know about it very well... but... before I give up I would like to know what cmdrmcdonald would say.

He would say the same thing. The information you're requesting is not available from the player journal, companion app, or any other location from which EDDI extracts data.

@aeterna426 You should be aware that CMDR McDonald has taken indefinite leave of EDDI, and it is unknown if he will ever return. Although, his parting messages did say he may come back to fix any major bugs. As things stand at the moment, it would be best to presume that he will not be returning, unfortunately.

I may be selfish but I hope his absence will not stop development of this really interesting project and there are people who will continue his work, right? :) Otherwise it would be a great shame if EDDI died. When ED v2.4 patch will be live I presume EDDI will require some changes too. Am I right? Who will take care of it then? Anyway I hope CMDR McDonald is doing well and eventually will come back to this exceptionally good idea.

Darkcyde13 commented 7 years ago

No, you're not selfish. You're not the only one who wants this great project to continue, I know of several other people want it to keep going. I don't think I could play ED without it anymore. :)

There are plans for others to continue the work, and I believe that features and fixes for ED 2.4 are already underway in another fork off from this page. Hopefully, the great work Cmdr McDonald has started, will be maintained by great heroes of the Galaxy for some time to come! :D

In regards to Pip management I have made a few VA macros that set my pips certain ways with just a HOTSA combination so instead of pressing HAT button on HOTSA many times.

I too hope development of EDDI continues, it has greatly enhanced my enjoyment of ED and not just playing the game but coming up with my own scripting and incorporating others I have found in various places. If i knew any programming languages that EDDI is developed in i would have tried to continue it myself in a heart beat.

Thank you much for your answers, guys. Let's hope it will not be the end of EEDI.
