sn-example.lyx yields defective first page

Dear Sir.

Initially, many thanks for your efforts creating "sn-example.lyx". It simply does not compile in lyx. Please find the details below.

• I use Lyx 2.3.7 and TeXLive 2021.
• I downloaded sn-article-template from https://www.springernature.com/gp/authors/campaigns/latex-author-support
• I followed the steps in https://wiki.lyx.org/Examples/Springer and execute the command texhash from a console to install sn-article-template.
• Then I executed LyX>Tools>Reconfigure
• I copied your springer-nature.layout to C:\Program Files\LyX 2.3\Resources\layouts
• I opened your sn-example.lyx using LyX
• I deleted all the text in Document>Settings>LaTeX Preamble to git rid of some erroe
• I compiled sn-example.lyx

The compilation gives the following error messages: __hook begindocument ->\SetFootnoteHook {\hspace *{-8pt}}\DeclareNewFootnot... ... LaTeX Error: Undefined color `artcatboxgray'. ...

The first page of the generated document is one line only "A[gobble]artcatboxgraycmyk0.0,0.0,0.0,0.30"

Beginning from the second page, the article displays well.

Could you please solve the error messages so that the first page of the generated document displays correctly?

Hello, if you delete the LaTeX preamble the document will not be correctly compiled. In any case, I was unable to reproduce the error, which seems to be related to a command in the Springer's class file. Perhaps you should include the package xcolor in your latex installation.
