The OMIP request includes variables satisfying identities of the form A = B + C [+ D] (e.g. phyc = phydiat + phymisc (though definitions of latter need to be clarified) . These should probably be flagged as, eg. phyc only required if model does not resolve separate diatom concentration and phydiat and phymisc to be provided if model does resolve distinct diatom distribution.
Another example is: zooc = zoomicro + zoomeso + zoocmisc.
