Still missing a clear explanation of "coarse insoluble mode".

This appears to relate to an observed a bimodal distribution of dust. E.g. "Note that in the AERONET inversion, the fine and coarse modes are separated at the inflection point within the size interval 0.439–0.992 μm" (https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/2017JD027258).

In Aeronet: "The inversion code finds the minimum within the size interval from 0.439 to 0.992 μm. This minimum is used as a separation point between fine and coarse mode particles." https://aeronet.gsfc.nasa.gov/new_web/Documents/Inversion_products_V2.pdf
