Taken from https://docs.google.com/document/d/1aeDU1kPlQsNiPAtyEW8Mp2WbL_HOJVPsKD_Dr1mu_f4/edit , item 2 (raised by Karl): "Horizontal coordinates in LIfxant and LIfxgre should be listed as “longitude” and “latitude” even for grids that are not lon x lat (e.g., cube sphere grids)." And, item 7: "We don’t need separate tables for Greenland and Antarctica."

These tables are needed to preserve file naming independence. See also https://github.com/PCMDI/cmor/issues/82
