Need tests and mocks #12

Currently the application does not have any tests written for it. Therefore whenever a functionality is touched there is no way to guarantee that the behaviour stays as specified.

Ideally, the tests will be written for the V1.0.0 milestone. Currently being developed on the branch enhancement/server.
