Instructions pointing to non-existing version v9.0.0 #810

The recently updated combine instructions recommend v9.0.0 which does not seem to exist yet:

The 'git checkout v9.0.0' command also naturally fails.

In addition, the default lxplus compiler is not the standard architecture for 11_3_4, so would be good to update the instructions on that part as well.

Hi Juska, the new release is nearly ready, but indeed the instructions were updated slightly prematurely. We've removed the parts pointing to v9.0.0 for now.
