Install docker on your computer, see e.g https://docs.docker.com/engine/install/ubuntu/ (or choose another one depending on your Linux flavour).
Go through the tutorials linked in https://cms-dpoa.github.io/cms-dpoa-getting-started/computing/more/docker.html (for the open data workshop exercise, no need to work through part 4, cvmfs)
