cms-bot internal usage
A new Issue was created by @cmsbuild .
@makortel, @smuzaffar, @sextonkennedy, @rappoccio, @antoniovilela, @Dr15Jones can you please review it and eventually sign/assign? Thanks.
cms-bot commands are listed here
FYI, @smuzaffar
That's great! I see this gfal2-util
package is now available on all EL 7/8/9 releases. Are you planning on updating all of those singularity images?
@amaltaro , do we need this for rhel7 too? I am asking as cms:rhel7
are still based on opensciencegrid/osg-wn:3.5-el7
and gfal packages for cms:rhel7 are picked up from /cvmfs/oasis.opensciencegrid.org/mis/osg-wn-client
@smuzaffar if possible, yes. I see that around 5% of the central production jobs are still targeting rhel7
.
I am afraid that needs complate re-build/re-configuration of rhel7 container and dropping https://github.com/cms-sw/cms-docker/blob/master/cms/osg-wn-client-setup.sh ( which overrides any gfal package of container). It also need a lot of testing. I would not suggest to touch rhel7
Hello, version 1.8.1
is already available in el8
containers (see https://github.com/cms-sw/cms-docker/issues/254#issuecomment-1884474636)
thanks @aandvalenzuela for confirming. What is version of this package in el9 containers?
It is the same version: gfal2-util-scripts 1.8.1-1.el9
@aandvalenzuela , should we close this issue now? Latest gfal2-util-scripts
is available in the cmssw/cms:rhel8-itb
containers
@smuzaffar Shahzad, do you know if this latest image (and the Alma9 equivalent) has been deployed in production?
@amaltaro , I had asked multiple times to test rhel8-itb but still have not received confirmation if new image is good or not. rhle9 image [a] (with new gfal2) is already available for production
