Phase-2 geometry clean up in 14_0 #43251

I've opened this ticket to follow up on the next round of Phase-2 geometry clean up. The proposal is to remove all geometry with I14 and I15. In short, all geometries from D86 - D94, and D97 will be removed.

Please share your concerns, or if new combinations are needed.

We (L1T) would like to keep D88 (the reason is that this was the geometry used in the last L1T MC campaign in 12_5) until, approx., mid 2024 (we would like to have our next set of Phase 2 samples produced in 14_1, hopefully available by March/April).

ph-2 tracker has some interest in keeping D91 as it is the only geometry including T30 aka "w/ realistic TFPX description". Depending on the timescale for this clean up, we can deliver a Tracker geometry with the same TFPX description as in T30, but with a description of the rest of Inner Tracker closer to the final project.

if this is still intended for 14_0_0 that will be closed at the end of Jan / beginning of Feb 2024.

@cms-sw/l1-l2 Following on this, should we target clean up in 14_2?

@cms-sw/trk-dpg-l2, I understand from your plan that you will combine T30 with T35. For now, can you do T30 on top of D110 (T35+C18+M11+I17+O9+F8), so that we don't need to keep I15 anymore. It is a primary goal of this clean up.

Also we need to keep a scenario with C20. If D94 is to be deleted we have to create one with C20 as D111

@cms-sw/upgrade-l2 we have now almost ready the (final) update of our BTL numbering scheme, prepared by @cquarant and discussed with @cms-sw/mtd-dpg-l2 , that is compatible with BTL v2 and v3 (i.e. MTD I16 or I17), but not with previous versions. We would like to know when alla scenarios up to D94 included, and D97, can be finally dropped from the development releases, as discussed back during last Fall/Winter.

Since the D95 and D110 geometries (used for the 13_1 and 14_0 MC productions) would remain available, L1T is ok with the current proposal.
