His explanation was that the crab3 server would handle this intelligently. The best case was to submit where the data are, but if that server is overloaded then the crab3 server would send it somewhere else and fallback to xrootd.

I also just managed to follow up on the HN thread where a US site got 'hammered' by xrootd access.
It seems CRAB3 is getting smarter and will send to alternative sites making config.Data.ignoreLocality
obsolete.

Hi, sorry to barge in. @rappoccio I am wondering how this came to be. Do you see lower turn-around times or more errors with XRootD on?
