Kind of the same here, I want to use it with the external monitor, but after
around 30 seconds, it goes to sleep nevertheless of the setting.
brand new macbbook air mid 2013 with 10.8.5 and latest updates.
Can help debugging if necessary (Iguess)

Same problem here. Used to work just fine with battery, but now goes to sleep
even when nosleep enabled and power disconnected. Don't know exactly when this
started, but I'm on 10.8.5 now. Fix would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

On MBP 13 Haswell with Retina has same problem. With Battery-Mode no effects!

I think this is the same issue as #110. Not sure if it helps but I have found
that after you close the lid and the external goes to sleep, if you open the
lid for a second just so the external display turns on and then close it it
stays in clamshell and can be use without external power. Hope you find a fix,

Also having this issue. Seems to work for 30 seconds, then goes to sleep
anyway. Macbook Air 13" using latest OSX. After closing the lid, my screen
resolution clears up on my external monitor (Dell), but then the laptop goes to
sleep after 30 seconds anyway. I have to open the laptop to awake it again, and
that ruins my screen resolution.
