Upper cut on M(jj) #22

Understand whether a cut like m(jj) < X, where X > 125 GeV retains enough efficiency for signal, while cutting away a significant part of the background.

Initial studies on the m_X = 700 GeV and m_Y = 100 GeV mass showed that even a lower cut on m(j_1) would be helpful.

Studies on a larger grid of mass points shows that the jet mass distributions differ a lot for lower vs. higher m_X mass points: https://uaf-10.t2.ucsd.edu/~evourlio/XToYHToggbb/plots_Oct-11-2023_weights1111011_PR24_studyJetMassCuts/

As a result, no single cut can be found for any of those variables, so we will stick to the current preselection,
