We have asserted:
is_a CL:0000710 ! neurecto-epithelial cell
is_a CL:0002167 ! olfactory epithelial cell ***
is_a CL:0000853 ! olfactory epithelial support cell
is_a CL:0002169 ! basal cell of olfactory epithelium
Def:
CL:0002167 ! olfactory epithelial cell *** [DEF: "A specialized cell involved
in sensory perception of smell."]
Is the support cell really involved in perception of smell?
I just added an equiv axiom
'epithelial cell' and capable_of some 'detection of chemical stimulus involved
in sensory perception of smell'
to be consistent with text def.
However, given the hierarchy I think the intent is that the def should be cell
of the olfactory epithelium (ie location def, not functional def)
However, this may be rather vertebrate specific - I imagine that there are
epithelial cells with similar detection capabilities in inverts that are not
part of the (typically vert-centric) olfactory epithelium
