Current names and definitions: DBMIB regimen (EO:0007287): The treatment involving use of DBMIB. It blocks the oxidation of plastoquinol in the photosynthetic light reaction and keeps the plastoquinone pool reduced.

DCMU regimen (EO:0007063): It blocks the reduction of plastoquinone in the photosynthetic light reaction and keeps the plastoquinone pool oxidized.

imidazolinone (EO:0007633): This type of herbicides are taken up by plant root and leaf tissue and transported to the meristems via both phloem and xylem. The herbicide stops the activity of the enzyme, acetolactate synthase (ALS), which is involved in branch chain amino acid (valine, leucine and isoleucine) synthesis.

CCP (EO:0007292): no definition

Proposed new names and definitions:

dibromothymoquinone treatment (EO:0007287): An herbicide treatment (EO:0007183) involving the use of dibromothymoquinone (DBMIB). CHEBI:19371 Comment: DBMIB blocks the oxidation of plastoquinol in the photosynthetic light reaction and keeps the plastoquinone pool reduced.

Diuron treatment (EO:0007063): An herbicide treatment (EO:0007183) involving the use of diuron (DCMU). CHEBI:116509 Comment: Diuron blocks the reduction of plastoquinone in the photosynthetic light reaction and keeps the plastoquinone pool oxidized.

imidazolinone treatment (EO:0007633): An herbicide treatment (EO:0007183) involving the use of an imidazolinone herbicide. Comment: This type of herbicides are taken up by plant root and leaf tissue and transported to the meristems via both phloem and xylem. The herbicide stops the activity of the enzyme, acetolactate synthase (ALS), which is involved in branch chain amino acid (valine, leucine and isoleucine) synthesis.

ethylphosphine treatment (EO:0007292): An herbicide treatment (EO:0007183) involving the use of ethylphosphine (CCP). CHEBI:35889
