The workaround is to install the plugin into an Eclipse installation that does
not already have older JavaScript tools installed. The newer ones are needed
for better support of the mobile UI frameworks.

Workaround: Use Eclipse IDE for Java or Eclipse Classic.
I'll work with the Eclipse community to make sure the JSDT in different
configurations converges.

@kel4 I just re-validated the install with Eclipse for Java.
2 Possible issues:
1. you're using an old version of Eclipse IDE for Java Developers. The Helios
version is required.
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/release/helios/sr1
2. org.eclipse.wst.html.core 1.1.402 is a dependency that comes from
eclipse.org. Perhaps your connection dropped during the install.

@paul,
Ok, I now see that i have galileo. Any plans on making a compatible version soon?
Original comment by kel4...@gmail.com
on 28 Jan 2011 at 3:56
I made the conscious decision to drop Galileo when going from 1.0 to 1.1 since
Galileo's JSDT (Java Script Development tools) has issues parsing jQuery Mobile
and Sencha Touch.
Given how quickly this technology is moving, I'm not going to personally
prioritize a backport to Galileo. However, the plugin code is open source and
I'd be happy to work with someone who wants to do the work.

Java EE will be supported with 1.2 by unchecking the JSDT and web page editor
at installation time. It still not recommended since you will lose JSDT fixes
and usability improvements not yet in the main JSDT. For more detail, see

You will be able to install if you uncheck JSDT when you install the MDS plugin.
I was not able to figure out how to update the JSDT that comes with JEE
Looking back through the comments in this issue, I realize that #7 and #9 seem
to be contradictory. #7 is accurate.
I'll delete comment #9 and reopen this bug, so that we can try to do better
with a future release.

You should be able to develop PhoneGap apps on Mac, Windows or Linux. Also,
your error message in comment 13 looks like JSDT was still checked when you
tried to do the install. If you're still having trouble, let me know your
development OS, Eclipse installation information, and errors.

With Indigo, AppLaud installs cleanly on JEE - just with a notice that its JSDT
is older and will not be installed. More info at
http://www.mobiledevelopersolutions.com/home/start/eclipse-indigo-and-applaud.
Likely, 1.3 will remove JSDT completely from AppLaud and just rely upon the
standard version.
