Suggestion for change in Ambassador Award #15

As an ambassador, I feel like the annual ambassador award should go to the ambassador who has done the most effective/interesting advocacy work for CNCF and cloud native projects that year. The current process for selecting best ambassador gives me no way to evaluate this. For example, I'd love to know who got creative and dedicated to having a successful online meetup presence in 2020, and vote on that basis.

FOr 2021, can we change the nomination process to one where the nominator lists what things the candidates did that year to qualify for the award? And make those nomination reasons available to all ambassadors voting? We could do this through making PRs against a repo.

SGTM, our timeline for this is usually ~6 weeks before North America, to leave time for nominations, voting AND lead time on production for physical awards.

Alright, so here's what I'll do: (1) I'm changing the google form to mark that 'nomination reasons will be made public' because tracking too many different processes will result in sadness. (This instead of PRs against a repo.) (2) When the nominations close, I'll share the spreadsheet of responses with the ambassadors.
