@k8tgreenley sorry for the late reply, well we can talk on CNCF if you want, my plan is to organize this for this semester with my students, the same as we did last year :) so we have to wait maybe 15 days to start the organization maybe.

That seems like good timing. The only KCD that is close to that is KCD Los Angeles with is March 9-10

I think that later doesn't work for us. 2 week after LA its okay for us. Different languages so I think that works, in April is the KubeCon, and in May mmm maybe... but not sure if works the students are in final projects. But May could be an option if April is not available for KCD.

I think you will be fine given the point about different languages used for KCD Guatemala and KCD LA. Also, both are in-person events, so the element of travel and convenience in location for regional people will help prevent competition.

Great collaboration of two Guatemalan community groups. They will come together as one
In-person was nice for engagement

A Costa Rican company decided to newly shape their company around open source
People stuck around all day in-person. Good adoption and awareness rate

Con: the day 2 virtual event fell short because all the focus was on in-person
Make both days in person?

Day 1 had 254 registered and had 150 check ins (59% check-in rate and 26% greater than last year)
Day 2 hybrid had 253 (156 virtual and 97 in-person) and 99 check ins (about 50 in-person)
