Re-add a calendar invite link #39

This is a tiny thing, but I got to thinking: we fixed the calendar invite that was pointing to the old Zoom link here (thanks, @onlydole!):

While this is good because people aren't being sent to the wrong place, the CNCF Community platform doesn't have a calendar invite that folks can put on their calendar to get reminded about the meeting -- they have to remind themselves or create their own invite or something.

I'm happy to recreate an invite that correctly points at the CNCF Community platform (I realize now that it's just the "publish" feature on an invite, nothing fancy). However, I'd be the owner of the invite, and I just wanted to check if there was an official CNCF account that should own the invite.

Happy to either:

  1. provide the text for the invite if someone else feels they should set it up and own it.
  2. create it all, set it up, add the links back to the Research User Group page and then transfer the ownership of the calendar item to whatever email address should actually own it.
  3. or just happy to own the invite in perpetuity

Just looking for a +1 on any of these ideas.

Thank you for raising this, @stackedsax! We can work with @abuango on this and see if Bevy (our community platform) allows for any help on this, instead of having to manage the invite manually!

Cool, I pinged Abu because I had a couple of other items to chat about besides this issue. I'll come back and let you know what we decide.

Hi @stackedsax, Thank you for raising this. Previously we have a form that people fill out to join certain calendar invites, but that didn't scale well. I think using Google groups created for each end-user community will be a good way to manage a calendar invite and ensure everyone stays in sync with future updates. I will work with setting this up with @taylorwaggoner and migrating existing calendar invite to using the group.
