[PROJECT ONBOARDING] metal3-io #272

Welcome to CNCF Project Onboarding! This is an issue created to help onboard your project into the CNCF after the TOC has voted to accept your project.

@russellb, we'll be tracking work in here. If I can get a link to your OWNERS file and your artwork, I should be able to get most things done on our end. We'd like to have onboarding complete by September 22nd.

We have several OWNERS files across different repos. Maybe the one for our top level design document repo would be the right one to start with? https://github.com/metal3-io/metal3-docs/blob/master/OWNERS -- Let me know if a list of contacts for the project overall is what you need, or a list that of all maintainers of any of the sub-components.

For artwork, check out the "Project Logo" section of https://github.com/cncf/toc/blob/master/proposals/sandbox/metal3-io.adoc

So one OWNERS file is required, this is who gets invited to the maintainers mailing list, and it's also how we keep track of who should be voting in elections. I've dropped the logo files over to our designer to add to the artwork repo.

OK, thanks for the clarification. I'll get back to you with a better OWNERS file that represents the full set of maintainers.

Hi all, Just checking in on: Domain: transfer domain to CNCF/LF (ITx) Trademarks: transfer any trademark and logo mark assets over to the LF GitHub: ensure 'thelinuxfoundation' and 'caniszczyk' are added as initial org owners, this helps us make sure we have continuity of GH ownership Website: ensure LF footer is there and website guidelines followed Website: Analytics transferred

I own the domains. Who should I work with? File a service desk ticket?

Trademarks: transfer any trademark and logo mark assets over to the LF

No trademarks filed. Logos have been provided already.

GitHub: ensure 'thelinuxfoundation' and 'caniszczyk' are added as initial org owners, this helps us make sure we have continuity of GH ownership

I invited both.

Website: ensure LF footer is there and website guidelines followed

I don't mind adding more text, but I can't seem to find where this is called out in the guidelines. I'm mostly raising this to help validate the current docs for projects. Pages I checked:

I will update the website guidelines to indicate that this is required, but it's required by our lawyers.
