As a follow-up task to https://github.com/cncf/wg-env-sustainability/issues/24 Plan who is going to reach out to which org/foundation.

Prepare before some basic communication: https://github.com/cncf/wg-env-sustainability/issues/25

Description

There are many organizations out there that have their very own perspective on sustainability and work on different levels and topics. As we want to be a bridge to those, being open to inviting them as well as collaborating with them to bring best practices to the cloud native community, we should document on the one hand side the activities and meetings with those.

In further steps, we can sharpen the collaboration and how to be better together.

Milestones

  1. Overview of existing connections
  2. Overview of potential connections
  3. Decision on how and where to document and track the gatherings
  4. ...

Since the discussion has been locked, are we still able to add new organizations for this one? I found that Cambridge University has Institute of Computing for Climate Science (https://twitter.com/Cambridge_ICCS) in which they also held Climate Informatics (https://cambridge-iccs.github.io/climate-informatics-2023/) conference next year. This seems really interesting.

Hey @mkorbi Sir. I would love to contribute by doing 2nd task in the TODO List. And can create the Doc or something to track the meetings.

Kind Regards, Devarsh

@caradelia I think we need to give this issue a little rebirth under the Comms WG - I like the current dynamics with the GSF and wish we can grow it with other groups too
